Southern California Wedding Photographer | Kate & Elliot Engagement

Being chosen by a couple who are traveling from another location to exchange vows and get married; is always an absolute honor for me as a Southern California wedding photographer. This engagement session was especially enjoyable for me; because not only will I be photographing this gorgeous couple’s wedding in Laguna Beach next year; but I also got to visit the East Coast to capture their whimsical sailboat engagement photos!

Kate and Elliot first contacted me via my website without knowing their exact wedding date or venue. As a Southern California wedding photographer; I am always excited to work with couples who are visiting from out of town. When they secured their Laguna Beach venue, I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be chosen as their wedding photographer. Kate and Elliot live in Philadelphia  while Kate completes her school. So, having the opportunity to make Southern California feel like home to them; while they are out here for their wedding is one of the main reasons I enjoy working with destination wedding couples. I love being able to put them at ease; and make them feel relaxed during our sessions; and at their weddings so that they can truly enjoy the entire day.

Sailboat Engagement Session

This shoot was actually shot in New Jersey, and I love bringing that sense of peace and calm to my couples while they travel with me to unique and exciting places. Each new location brings with it new challenges and opportunities for growth and learning. As a Southern California wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the country to capture couples’ love. It’s incredible how each new location lends itself to becoming a part of each couple’s love story. I love exploring new places and photographing their uniqueness while telling your love story, whether it’s an engagement on horseback in Napa Valley or a majestic wedding at a castle in Ireland.

SoCal Engagement Photographer

This particular shoot was definitely one of my most memorable sessions. It took us out on the Atlantic Ocean for a romantic sunset engagement session on a sailboat. We decided to start this sailboat session about 2 hours before sunset. This was the ideal lighting for the photos’ whimsical and romantic mood. We spent time moving around the boat, taking champagne cheers photos, and even photos with their adorable dog, Clementine, who stole the show at times with her cuteness! Not only will Kate and Elliot have these romantic engagement photos to hang in their home; but they will also have their elegant Laguna Beach wedding photos to hang alongside them when the time comes. Allowing them to remember these fun times together for years to come!
