Balboa Park Engagement Photos | N & R

There is nothing quite like Balboa Park Engagement Photos. We know you will agree once you see Natalia & Ryan’s engagement album!

Balboa Park is filled with its variety of textures, materials, greenery, and stunning architecture. Making it the ideal location for capturing the authenticity of your love and the excitement of your engagement. The variety of backgrounds will give the impression that you went to different locations to capture the diversity, but there is plenty of space to capture all of the variety you want without having to change locations or drive somewhere else.

This historic location is ideal for San Diego couples who want to pay homage to their hometown, as well as for couples visiting from out of town because it is so easily recognized as a San Diego landmark. However, if you want to take Balboa Park engagement photos, I always recommend going early on a weekday morning because this is a popular tourist attraction and parking and navigating around the park can become a little more difficult later in the day or on weekends. Luckily, sunrise and sunset in the park are some of the best times to photograph throughout the day!

Exploring Balboa Park for engagement photos

Normally, I recommend that my couples bring two different outfits to a shoot; however, for Natalia and Ryan’s engagement shoot, we wanted to focus on having time to explore some lesser-known locations around Balboa Park and felt that bringing a second outfit would be unnecessary because it would eat up some of the photography timeline.

We began this Balboa Park engagement photo session by exploring some of the less-visited areas. I enjoy doing this with clients because it allows them to get used to being in front of the camera. And, it gives us both time to get to know each other’s personalities. This also allows me to spend more time learning about and bonding with my couples. It serves as a great practice run for their wedding day. As the engagement session progresses, I usually venture into more popular areas once the couple is feeling more relaxed. And, as you can see, Natalia and Ryan thoroughly enjoyed the warm-up process. In which resulted in more natural-looking photos that showcased their true, unique personalities.

I am excited to announce that I also photographed Natalia and Ryan’s wedding day in October 2022 at Ethereal Gardens in Escondido and will be sure to share their wedding album soon!
