The Prado Balboa Park

Erin and Owen were an absolute pleasure to work with at their wedding at The Prado, Balboa Park! This glamorous couple chose the ideal location for their classic dream wedding. Because they wanted something memorable and representative of San Diego. Their wedding day included a first look, photos at all of the well-known locations in Balboa Park. They were even lucky enough to have their own son join in on the celebration!

We began Erin and Owen’s wedding day with a first look outside of the ballroom. We then moved on to their couple portraits while exploring the park. The ceremony was at the romantic, fairytale-esque wishing well. Guests then proceeded to the courtyard and ballroom for cocktail hour and the reception. The indoor ballroom perfectly dressed in light mauve, with shades of white, gold, and greenery to weave in the regal ambiance of the ceremony.

Weddings at The Prado in Balboa Park

Because of the numerous photo backdrop options available in and around the venue, The Prado, Balboa Park, is one of our favorite San Diego wedding venues. This venue is ideal for wedding couples who want to show their out-of-town guests the true spirit of San Diego. This historic urban cultural park is one of San Diego’s most well-known attractions. With open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, walking paths, museums, and several theaters.

The variety of spaces available is ideal for your wedding day. Altogether that is because each page of your album will feel like it was taken somewhere truly unique. The Organ Pavillion, Alcazar Garden, The Botanical Garden, and in front of the famous tower are among my favorite photo locations in Balboa Park. While some of these locations are geared toward couples who enjoy and appreciate Mediterranean and Spanish colonial architecture, all in all there are plenty of gardens and botanic spaces that will make your photos look lush and green. The juxtaposition of purposeful architectural style photos alongside more natural foliage background photos creates an incredible visual balance in your wedding day album.
