San Diego Garden Wedding | Madisen & Donnie Wedding Day

This San Diego garden wedding was definitely one to remember! A few weeks ago I shared Madisen & Donnie’s La Jolla Beach engagement session and now I am so excited to be sharing their wedding day! This day turned out to be completely different than what they had planned when they first contacted me. But, we all know how 2020 went.

They had to change plans, over and over, but it was definitely all worth it. I was so happy that they were able to find a way to still get married.

I feel like their love story is straight out of a book! They both grew up in the same small town, went to the same school. Being that they are 4 years apart they never really crossed paths much or had the same mutual friends, even though they know of each other. As Madisen told me “I remember always thinking he was the cutest boy ever. I called him “The Donnie Frank” 🙂 With his surfer blond hair and blue eyes, I always had a little crush on him, but he seemed so much older so I never even tried to talk to him.”

But, their story didn’t begin until about two years ago when he messaged her on Instagram. Neither of them was looking to get into a relationship but things were easy between them, and as Madisen said it “it just felt so right”. From then on the rest is history. Soon after they started dating they got a puppy together; and it didn’t take Donnie long to realize that Madisen was the one and to pop the question. They had their engagement session at Windndsea beach in La Jolla and were soon ready for their big day!

It’s wedding day!

By the time it got close to their wedding date in October we were all so excited that some things were open. They were able to get married outside of Skyline Church and have a stunning San Diego garden wedding! Even though this was not what they had envisioned for their wedding day I love that we were still able to come together and celebrate the love they share with each other.

Having a San Diego garden wedding is always such a great idea! It ended up being the perfect way for these two lovebirds to tie the knot and beat the odds during a pandemic!
