This Intercontinental San Diego wedding is sure to take your breath away! Karen and Kiyoma came to me looking for a photographer that would be able to capture their relationship while still honoring their easy going and calm personalities. Upon meeting with them, I had an instant connection to this couple and knew I could make all of their wedding day photography dreams come true! The moment they told me that they needed someone that could be a calm presence on their wedding day, I knew we would work great together!
Their day began with an intimate Chinese Tea Ceremony meant to honor their elders. After getting ready, their first look on the Intercontinental Hotel’s bayview terrace was intimate and super sweet. We then went across the street for some bridal party photos by the bay which was just a stunning backdrop.
Kelsey with Forever Enchanted Events did such an amazing job planning their day and all the details so beautifully. For the ceremony, guests were greeted by Joshua Spieker, a live artist who was painting the romantic ceremony scene. Floral pieces and design details in soft blush, slate blue, and gold accented their rooftop, ocean view ceremony setting and indoor ballroom. The Florals were crafted together by Andrea Hunt with A Hunt Design.
If you have ever thought about having one of your guy friends be the flower guy, this is your sign to do it! It was so much fun to see this flower guy walking down the aisle!
Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests entered the indoor reception area, where they were greeted by tall gold floral centerpieces and an elegant and neutral décor. Karen and Kiyoma ate, drank and danced the night away with all of their closest family and friends and ended the night with a last dance on the dance floor or with a light up balloon grand exit!
Take note of the variety in their album as you look through the photographs from this day. One of my favorite things about weddings in downtown San Diego is that there are so many various photography options – from the city backdrop to the seaside views, there are so many different alternatives!
Having an Intercontinental San Diego wedding means you would get a waterfront terrace. You could have your ceremony facing out to the San Diego bay while still enjoying the skyline view of downtown. Then for reception you could go indoors into one of their beautiful ballrooms that has floor to ceiling views of the skyline lit up at night.
