Earlier this month I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding at the Water Conservation Garden in El Cajon, CA. I had never been there and this place is seriously a hidden gem in the San Diego area. This wedding was not a very traditional wedding but Louis and John’s day was one to remember. They were just the coolest guys and so cute together! They put a lot of effort into their wedding day and all their hard work paid off! The evening was fun and beautiful; a celebration of their love for one another.
The Water Conservation Garden was definitely a perfect place for a wedding; since it is a garden all around you don’t need much for decorations, but the decorations they did have tied in so perfectly with the venue! They made perfect centerpieces to tie in with the garden all around. They even thought about the fact that it’d be hot during the ceremony and made fans out of their wedding day programs so guests could cool off – but why end there!? Their suits were custom made and they each matched the colors of the wedding. One of my favorite things was that instead of having cake as their dessert, they chose to have personal pies in all different flavors!
I am so glad that I got to meet Louis and John. By the time their wedding day came around they already felt like friends. I guess this shouldn’t surprise me, as I tend to get so invested in the couples that I work with. It was also very touching to see how so many people, from family to friends, came to celebrate and be part of their day. It is heartwarming to see how happy everyone was for this happy couple; smiles and happy tears were flowing throughout Louis and John’s ceremony and it was truly a special day.
Here are some of the highlights:
